It takes a very special little boy to bring all his grandparents and aunt and uncle to town for his birthday weekend, and a very smart mom to hire this Vernon Family Photographer to capture all the family moments.

Deacon, the star of the session, is one of the sweetest little four year olds I know. So articulate, polite, and sweet.   And with the promise of some splashing time in the lake at the end of our session; he was more than accommodating with all the different images we wanted to capture of him. Being a model is exhausting work but he handled it like a pro!

It was very important that I capture all the family groupings as many of them had traveled great distances to be a part of his birthday weekend.

The Family fur babies were also very important members of the photo session. As we wanted to capture them too, I chose the very dog friendly end of Kin Beach, on gorgeous Okanagan Lake.  I don’t know who was more a rock star…the pooches or Deacon.  They say working with animals and children are the hardest in any photo session but they were all amazing!

Even though I loved so many images, my two favorites are of him with his faithful companion, Easton and of Deacon jumping in the lake. Pure joy!

Deacon was going to be having his birthday party the day after I photographed him and he told me he was going to be having a Black Widow cake for his special day! I asked him if he liked Black Widow Spiders, and he said ‘no’ he was terrified of them; which made me laugh out loud at his choice. Hope he enjoyed it!!!
