Family Photography is one of my favourite portrait sessions to capture. I am especially honoured when I get to capture a family that I have known for many years and I get to capture them as they grow up.
I have known Trevor and Amy since our 20’s (Amy longer for at one point she actually lived on the street I grew up on). I was at their wedding. We have had lots of adventures and so to capture such beautiful family portraits for them, as their handsome sons grow up, is such an honour.
Over the years, we have tried to capture their family in different sessions. Apple blossoms, fall portraits, gorgeous Kalamalka Lake portraits in the summer and now apple season!
For anyone living in the Okanagan, many have heard of the BX Press. It’s a fantastic Cidery and Orchard in Vernon who craft premium full-juice ciders.
Truly a branch-to-bottle operation, they grow the apples, press, ferment, mature, and bottle right in their our own orchard. Taking a full year to craft, they choose specific apple varieties for their crisp flavours, rich aromatics, and amazing complexity they contribute to our finished ciders.
Amy works for the BX Press part time and with their beautiful, old growth orchard, we thought it would be the perfect backdrop.
Although we got rained on, and our session was shorter than anticipated, they brought their A-Game and we finished their session in record time so that we didn’t all get soaked. Don’t worry Trevor, you don’t need to come back again for a re-shoot 😉
Glad you were all dry enough to go out for dinner after and to celebrate the start of your back to school journey!
