Celebrating Grandma’s 90th birthday was the perfect excuse to get this beautiful family together for some Vernon Family Portraits.

 Even though the over cast skies threatened us with rain for this family session, we were fortunate enough to only feel a few drops and the overcast skies were perfect for us to us Kalamalka Lake as our picture perfect backdrop.

Having just seen Jodi and James’s beautiful family a few weeks prior for their beautiful newborn portraits when their their beautiful daughter Juliet was born, I was so honoured that James parents commissioned me to take portraits of their entire family.  Having Erika home for grandma’s birthday seemed the perfect time to get everyone together.

James mom, Sandy, told me the last time they had such portraits done (apart from some of the kids weddings), since their children were teenagers.  It was long overdue to have some natural, organic portraits taken.  Kekuli Bay seemed the perfection location.

There was so much joy, laughter and love present that although it was sometimes like wrangling kittens to get them all looking at me; there were so many laughs.  Joe and Mitch were definitely the jokers of the group!

I was thrilled to learn that are Catherine and Mitch are expecting their first baby in about 6 months and I am sure they will too will make the most beautiful family of three.  Auntie Erika will now have three adorable nieces and nephews to snuggle!  She was definitely a hit with Nathan.  He loved having his auntie make him laugh!
