As a Kelowna Photographer who specializes in Kelowna Maternity Photos, it is always such a joyous time to meet a couple who quickly approaching one of the most exciting time of their lives.  Meeting their little one!

When we are all done our maternity portrait session, and I say goodbye to my clients, it always hits all of us, that the next time we are together; they will have welcomed their little boy or girl.  It is such an emotional, exhilarating and joyous moment.

I first met this beautiful couple, Joey and Genevieve through email.  Joey was the one to initially reach out to me and we immediately started looking at dates that worked with their busy schedule.

Genevieve is from Quebec City and Joey is from Regina.  They met while both working up North helping the northern communities with their health care.  Joey is a family physician and Genevieve is a nurse.  They spoke with great fondness for their time there.

They were married a year ago and it was the first time they had ever had professional portraits taken.  Genevieve’s friend is a photography in Quebec so I am honoured they entrusted me to capture their next collection of important memories.  Joey, who had shoulder length hair till last week, even cut his hair for their session with me!

Although it was a rather chilly day, Genevieve handled the cold like a true champ.  Joey was always there to quickly wrap his coat around her in between set ups and the beautiful blue shawl she wore was lovingly knit by her grandmother.  It was Genevieve’s wedding shawl and I think it was so beautiful to incorporate it in our maternity session.
