I first met Lindsay via email when she sent me an enquiry about having me capture her newborn and Kelowna maternity photos.
Working with couples to create beautiful maternity photos, prior to their newborn portraits, is a passion of mine. I understand it doesn’t work with everyones schedule to have maternity portraits captured, but when it does, the level of connection between the three of us, creates an amazing synergy and level of trust that also pours over into the newborn session. It is so exciting to meet the soon to be parents before the momentous occasion and I love capturing this exciting stage in their lives. As my husband always says, he wishes we had more pictures of me pregnant (and we had maternity portraits taken with both our children) because it is just so amazing what we woman’s bodies can do!
Mission Creek Park in Kelowna, was a beautiful location for our sun drenched, but cold day. Lindsay was a real trouper handling the cold and Reid was always there to quickly bundle her up in-between set ups.
Borrowing a maternity gown from the Baby Bliss Photography wardrobe, Lindsay looked absolutely goddess like in the burgundy gown. Being over 6ft. tall (I hardly ever meet a mom taller than me) it looked spectacular on her! Reid couldn’t take his eyes off of her!
When I leave a maternity session, it is always a mix of emotions as I know how the families life is going to be so different the next time I meet them. For Lindsay and Reed, to have their first little baby enter their lives, is going to forever change them. My heart feels like it could explode for them. Waiting their little boy, must feel like it will never come soon enough
It will be an exciting day when I get to see them as a family of three in my studio next month!
