This Kelowna Newborn Photographer has been anxiously awaiting the arrival of little Amara. I photographed her mom and dad way back in October for their maternity session (if you missed that session you MUST check out of the blog post. It was one of my favorites maternity sessions) and so it seems like I’ve been waiting a long time to meet this sweet little girl.

Little Amara, was 10 days old when we did her session and I have to say she is the most alert newborn girl I have ever photographed. I kept joking with mom and dad that she must be an old soul and has been here before. Not only was she very alert for almost her entire sessions (which almost hit the four hour mark) but her eyes were constantly focusing on me and her environment which is very unusual for someone so young. She felt like a three month old to me. Although her alertness posed challenges for some of the poses I wanted to do…I LOVE that I was able to capture some adorable images with her eyes open. I rarely get that!

Seeing that Amara is going to be adorning mom and dad’s Christmas card this year, we couldn’t resist in doing one Santa set up. Thanks to Chris Holm, of Vernon Re-max for allowing me to borrow his suit and thanks dad for donning the super hot outfit. I know it wasn’t comfortable but I am sure you will agree it was worth the pain. Look at that adorable smile she gave daddy while cradled in his arms!

Congratulations Miles and Sandra.  You have a beautiful baby girl and I am absolutely thrilled for this new family of three!
