Kelowna Photographer

As a Kelowna Photographer, I was over the moon excited to meet Annie and Nick’s little boy.  The last time I saw them, we were creating their beautiful maternity portraits at Mission Creek Park in Kelowna.  Annie’s parents were visiting from China and were also there for the wonderful maternity session we had.  We all parted knowing the next time we saw each other it would be for newborn portraits.

And now he is here!

As it is the custom in China, woman stay home for a month to recover after the baby is born (how wonderful is that!) and Annie’s parents had also stayed in Canada to help lend a hand where ever they could.  I know their support was so welcome, especially as baby Oscar is child number two for Nick and Annie and big sister Olivia is an active preschooler!

Because of Annie’s desire to adhere to her customs, I took my Baby Bliss Photography studio on the road to capture these lovely newborn portraits.

The portraits of him and his big sister absolutely melt my heart.  She was so attentive and enthralled with him.  We spent a good portion of our session working with the two of them, because there were just so many beautiful ways for the two of them to cuddle.

Little Oscar wasn’t up to sleeping much during the session but we were able to modify all the poses to meet his lack of sleepiness.

Swaddled worked best for him so he we used that to our advantage.  Normally he doesn’t love being swaddled but I know the nice warm room, a belly full of milk and my baby whispering skills; made a huge difference.  Over 8 years, there are very few babies that haven’t slept during their session.

Nick and Annie, you make a beautiful family of four and I am honoured you invited me into your home to create these newborn portraits.

Baby Bliss Photography specializes in newborn, baby & family photography in Kelowna and Vernon and works as a Kelowna Photographer
