As a Kelowna Photographer, I love when I receive an email from a potential client, who is planning a photo session because family will be amassing in a location for a huge family reunion.

Flying and driving in from all over BC, Yukon and the UK, this was a moment not to miss.  It had to be commented with some very special Kelowna family portraits.

Coordinating it all from the UK, Tu Anh, and her beautiful family were very much on UK time when they arrived to the session.  Both their little ones had fallen asleep or were in the process or falling asleep on the car ride over to the Mission Creek parkway.  I have to admit, ss a photographer, hearing that struck a little bit of fear into my heart.  I was terribly worried how they would do.  They could have woken up VERY grumpy and they were needed in a lot of different family groupings.

There was also Cooper and his adorable sister Siri.  Super young like their cousins from the UK , it can be overwhelming to be in such a large group portrait and as a photographer, once can never predict how they will do.

For so many different moving pieces, it was a lot to coordinate and photograph, but oh my goodness.  What an AMAZING session it was!

Everyone brought their A-game and the results are spectacular.  Even the smoke that hung in the air, from all the recent forest fires, didn’t detract one bit from these stunning images.  If anything, they added a beautiful, soft haze to the gorgeous backdrop.

It was such a pleasure to photograph this joyous family.  I even discovered through the process that evening that I went to University with one of the dads!  Although one year older than me, we both studied under many of the same professors and I totally remembered him when I admit, I went home that night, and looked him up in the School Year book.
