As a Kelowna Photographer, when a client calls from Calgary and says he would like to plan a photo session to commemorate five years of vacationing every summer in the Okanagan, you have so many incredible venues and backdrops to choose from to celebrate such an occassion.

When I first started chatting with Amreesh, I know they would be fantastic clients.  Not only did he want to capture some of the beautiful scenery that makes the Okanagan Valley such a desirable place for so many families to vacation, but it was also his and Anuja’s 5th Wedding Anniversary and he wanted to surprise his beautiful wife with something special.

Right away, when he spoke of both a vineyard and some scenic lake areas, I immediately thought of Summerhill Pyramid Winery.  It doesn’t get more picturesque and who wouldn’t want to end their session in the wine shop of one of Canada’s premier wineries?  The staff at Summerhill is also super accommodating when it comes to bringing clients there.  They love sharing their gorgeous spot!

Not only are Amreesh and Anuja a striking couple (and so much fun to work with!) but their five month old daughter, Jiya, totally stole my heart.  Seriously, can you get a cuter baby?  It’s always hard to gauge how a little one will do, especially when naps can be easily thrown off with traveling, but she did so well!  What a sweetheart!  She luckily hung in there for us for the family portion of the session and then drifted off to sleep in her stroller so I could finish with mom and dad.

The smoke from all the recent B.C. forest fires made planning this session rather challenging, but I was so thankful the smoke cleared for the last few days they were here on their trip.

You were a joy to work with Amreesh, Anuja and Jiya.  Hope to see you again next summer for more family portraits!
