As someone who loves creating Kelowna newborn portraits, it was an immense joy to work with the beautiful little Ilona Joyce.

Mom, Karla and dad, Peter radiated so much joy watching their little girl being photographed.  Peter was so hands on and was a huge help to me as I changed sets, props and backdrops.  He was a wonderful assistant!  He gushed love for his little princess!

Named after her paternal grandmother and her maternal great grandma, Ilona (E-lona) is the Hungarian version of Elaine for Peter’s mom and Joyce for Karla’s grandma.

Neither woman is sadly with us anymore so it’s a beautiful testimony to the love that comes to baby Ilona from afar.

Karla’s mom, Leslie, was visiting from Edmonton to help with all the transitions for this new family.  So important for a new mom.  What support!  It took a little coaxing but I was so pleased to have grandma step in front of the camera with her darling little grand daughter.  I love grandma portraits with their little grand baby!  So precious!

Ilona slept like a champ during her session and was a dream to pose!  I love all the soft organic colours Peter and Karla chose and the little pop of green!  She transitioned so smoothly from pose to pose.

Peter regretted not bringing any motorcycle paraphernalia, so I foresee a photo session in the future that will be filled with helmets, clothing and all sorts of fun things!

It was such a pleasure finally meeting you Karla and Peter.  You make a beautiful family of three and I am so honoured you entrusted me to capture your newborn portraits!  So much love and joy was present!
