I am always so honored when clients travel a good distance to see me so I can be their Salmon Arm Newborn Photographer.

Moving to gorgeous Blind Bay on Shuswap Lake recently (a move from Northern BC so it’s a really big change of scenery) Tara, and baby Aubree are my second clients from the Shuswap area in the past month . Tara is loving their new change of scenery but when baby Aubree was born, it meant going for over an hour drive to have her newborn session captured by me. I am honoured they would come such a distance!

Baby Aubree is actually the oldest baby I have photographed in the newborn style. She was 1 month on boxing day, and I opened my studio for her on the 27th after my short Christmas vacation. Even though she was 31 days old, and was very attached to her soother, we were able to capture my vision for each pose. I worked quickly and once the soother was out for each pose, I was able to capture my image before she moved on me!

It was a lot of fun photographing a one month old baby (as opposed to the two week mark most of my newborns are). You wouldn’t imagine there would be a huge difference between the two but there definitely is. Aubree was so full of smiles and I loved photographing her looking directly at my camera.

Tara wasn’t sure if she wanted to be in any of the images (I get it…giving birth and having a newborn baby is EXHAUSTING) but I am so glad my gentle prodding convinced how gorgeous she was with Aubree! I love them so much!

Congratulations Tara and Dave on Baby Aubree. What a gorgeous little girl you have! You make a beautiful family of three!
