I love when as a Vernon Newborn Photographer, I also get to be a Vernon Baby Photographer when my little newborns turn one!
I was lucky enough to see Jodi, James and Baby Nate about a month ago. My family and I were swimming at the Vernon Recreation Centre pool and I couldn’t believe how big he was now. And so cute. What a handsome little man! Jodi told me then they wanted to book a one year session and I was so thrilled.
And now to celebrate his turning one years old, we got to work together again and I was privileged to create these lovely family portraits. Even as a photographer who documents her own children often, I wish I had so many more family pictures of my husband and I when our little ones were this small. It seems we rarely have family portraits done and I know Jodi and James will treasure these.
The day of our session was absolutely perfect. The sun was shining and Nathan had a great nap before our session.
I choose the BX Ranch dog park for our location as I wanted to capture some of the lovely snow and the creek is so beautiful this time of year. Nathan loved seeing all the dogs, and for the first part of our session, the dogs were about the only thing keeping him occupied and happy. He wasn’t sure he wanted to have his picture taken. It was all rather foreign and to be placed down anywhere on his own was an absolute tragedy for him. Poor little guy was much happier to be hanging on to mom or dad!
For the later part of the session, Nathan really started to come into his own and we were thrilled when we captured the happy, smiley baby he normally is.
It was an absolute pleasure photographing this joyous family once again and I am so honoured to work them again. Happy First Birthday Nathan! You are one loved little man!
