There are so many reason I love Vernon Family Photography.  First, it gets me out from behind my computer editing, into the gorgeous city of  Vernon that I call home.  There are so many miraculous and varied locations I can take a family for their portrait session.  I love exploring and either finding new locations or rediscovering old ones.

Secondly, life is fleeting.  I’ve never ever heard anyone say I have too many photos.  Our babies grow up too quickly and there are so many beautiful reasons to capture the love within a family.

This gorgeous family was an intensely emotional family portrait session.  The joy and love was palpable and I am so honoured they choose me to capture their beautiful smiles, joyous laughter and  the goofy faces we had so much fun creating.

Heather, their beautiful mom and wife, corresponded a number of times with me as we chatted about possible locations.  I sent her examples of a few locations and sessions I had done recently and her favourite ended up being up at the lovely Silver Star Mountain Resort.  I am so glad she chose it!  We all especially appreciated the cooler temperature as it was so much cooler than down in the valley.

We choose Brewer’s Pond for it’s gorgeous, watery reflections, soft evening light and sandy beach.  The kids toughed out the bugs (thankfully they weren’t as bad as they could have been) and we all had so much fun.  I mentioned to Heather how remarkable the children were.  Gorgeous to photograph, yes; but more importantly they were so polite, thoughtful  and cooperative.  I had the hardest time narrowing down all their images!  They were all so fantastic!
