For this Vernon Photographer, there is nothing sweeter than getting to know a Vernon family and their newest little baby!

When Amanda contacted me, they were looking for a newborn photographer, as the photographer they had used for their oldest, Ben, had just given birth herself and was off on maternity leave. 

Although Ben arrived a little cautiously in the studio, he quickly warmed up to his environment and was incredibly calm and happy to pose with his new sister.  Being only 18 months himself, I can’t guarantee that a sibling portrait will be created.  Sometimes it’s just too unfamiliar for them  and we only get a family portrait where they feel much safer in dad’s arms.  But little Ben rocked his sibling portraits!  He is clearly enamoured with his little sister.  I love the smiles he gave me and he wanted nothing more than to cuddle Isabelle.

As we chatted throughout their session, we learned we had lots of friends in common; including the medical team that help bring little Isabelle into this world and even a common work place.  Amanda is part of the children’s ministry at Vernon Alliance Church, and many years ago, before I received my degree in photography at Western Academy of Photography in Victoria,  I too worked at Vernon Alliance.  

Isabelle was a champion poser and moved effortlessly through the different outfit changes and set ups.   The gorgeous pink outfit, trimmed with fur was loving made by grandma as well as the sweet little bunny stuffy!!!

When not posing sweetly for photos with his little sister, Mr, Ben loved playing in the yard of the Caetani Centre where I have my studio.  Although I always wish my studio was bigger, it is seeing little ones play in the idyllic yard of my studio that keeps me right where I am.  I love this place!
