As a Vernon Photographer who specializes in family portraits, newborn portraits and maternity portraits, I am often asked what is my favourite subject to capture.

Quite honestly, it is whatever session I am in at the time. I know that sounds like the “right answer” but it really is true. When I am connecting with a client through my camera and capturing a bit of their soul, and what makes them uniquely them, I am SO in the moment! I adore it. And I can’t wait to get back to my office and start downloading the session. I watch each portrait come in and I love narrowing down the session to my favourites.

This beautiful session, celebrating Olga and Brett’s upcoming baby, was beautiful in many ways.

First of all, Olga was my grandmother’s name and have not met another Olga. She was a treasured soul in my life and just saying this beautiful expectant mom’s name, made me smile.

I also loved the dresses Olga found and I think they photographed perfectly with the sage, colours of Kalamalka Lake and the bit of overcast skies we had.

Brett and Olga are newer to Vernon, so I loved showing them a new part of Kal Lake and how gorgeous it is there near night fall. I feel so lucky to live surrounded by such beauty.

Almost all of Olga’s family is in the Ukraine so I know they will be anxiously awaiting seeing how beautiful Olga looks growing a tiny human and even more excited when baby arrives.

That is always my favourite part of a maternity session. Knowing the next time I see my client/clients, life will be oh so much sweeter and exciting!
