As a Vernon Photographer, who absolutes loves creating magical portraits of children, family and newborns; not working with my clients these past two months has been very difficult.

I miss client interactions, the planning, the creating and the excitement that comes with revealing what we created.

Apple blossom portraits are some of my favourites. It is a short window of opportunity each May, but it transforms my neighbours old growth apple orchard into a fragrant paradise. I have clients each year who request these beautiful portrait sessions and this past February, I bought a beautiful gown for my clients, that I wanted to include in these portrait sessions. My daughter first wore it in March while we were in Florida, and ever since she couldn’t wait to wear it again for apple blossom portraits.

Last night, amongst the fragrant blossoms, we captured these beautiful portraits. They usually bloom around Mother’s Day and this year they were right on schedule. Such a beautiful present for me each year!

I have been professionally photographing my own children since the day they were born and I hope one day they appreciate all the beautiful portraits that have been created over the years. My daughter turns 7 in a few weeks and I cherish being able to look back on each birthday portrait.

Thanks to the amazing Whitney, of Little Dreamers Tutus for the incredible dress she crafted for our session. Ava feels so special wearing it!

I look forward to offering this dress next year for all my clients to use. It photographs so beautifully and amongst the apple blossoms, it will be a magical occasion for any young girl. Living in the Okanagan during the fruit blossoms, makes living in the Okanagan a dream!
