As a Vernon Photographer of newborn babies and families, it is always so exciting when I get to photograph a family again.  And for such an amazing occasion….the birth of a new baby!

Baby Kaden is the handsome new addition to Melissa and Shawn’s already beautiful family.  I first had the privilege of meeting them back in 2014 when Weston, was a newborn.  Big brother Cameron is now head of this three boy gang 🙂  Mom and dad are officially outnumbered!

Little Kaden decided to make his grand entrance a week early at 5 lbs, 5 oz.  A wee little guy, he needed to be a fighter right away.   With a few medical complications, he was flown to B.C. Children’s Hospital right after.  It is every new parents worst nightmare.  I can’t imagine the panic they felt.  Thankfully, although it was a very  scary week for Shawn and Melissa, he is now on the mend and doing great.  The only thing that remained of his harrowing week when I met him, was a tiny missing patch of hair where they had to shave him to add an I.V.

With all the prodding and poking he received in his first week of life, he was a little more sensitive to my touch….as if to ask….what are you about to do to me?  Poor little guy….but with all that behind him, he settled into his session really well and we even got a little smile out him!

He is SO loved by his older brothers.  They wanted to kiss him as much as possible and I know they are going to be his guardians for life.  Melissa and Shawn LOVE being outdoors with their boys and they are going to have some great hiking partners in life!
