The last time this Vernon Photographer saw Chloe Rose she was a little itty bitty newborn, and now here she is as a one year old!

It was so fun to see her family again for the momentous occasion and we were thrilled that the cake smash was such a roaring success.  You see we tried a cake smash three weeks prior, but little Chloe Rose wasn’t feeling good.  We tried everything to get to her to be her happy self.  But no amount of cake, costume changes and even a surprise visit from grandma could lift her spirits.  Finally after about an hour and a half, we conceded that it wasn’t the day for photos and we adjourned until last weekend.

This time, it went smashingly….no pun intended!  She literally obliterated her cake!  A lot of times in cake smashes the little ones really have no interest and it’s mom getting in there to mess things up, but not Chloe Rose.  I think the cake we had for the first session really helped.  After she felt better, mom says she got to play with it at home and I think it’s why this new one was so much fun.  She had a blast knocking it off the stand and then proceeding to smear icing all of the floor.  I smelled like sweet icing all day 🙂

Thanks Anthony and Jen for coming back and having as much fun as Chloe Rose did watching her celebrate her birthday in such a sweet fashion.  I can’t wait to see you again next year when Chloe Rose is two for your outdoor portrait session.  We’ll have so much in the beautiful fall colors!
