This Vernon Photographer loves working with close friends.  There is something exciting and fun about getting ready for a session when you know your day is going to start and end with a hug….and the promise of getting together again soon!

The Friesen Family has been in my life a LONG time.  I have watched the kids grow since they were wee little ones.  And although seeing the oldest, Will, old enough to be working towards  a Music Degree in Vancouver, makes me feel VERY old….it still does my soul good to see them!

Of course the one day they were all available for the session it was DUMPING snow.  We couldn’t reschedule, so we had to go with what Mother Nature was sending our way.  I think the falling snow makes for beautiful pictures however and I am glad they were good sports about tromping around in the ankle deep snow.

For those of you who don’t know the Friesen Family, they are one talented bunch.  When my husband and I got married, we were actually fortunate enough to twist Steve’s arm (the dad of the family) to sing at our Wedding.  And for those of you who attend theatre in Vernon, Steve and his kids have all had a large part to play in many of the productions put on by Center Stage Performing Arts Academy.  “Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat”, “The Sound of Music”, “Hairspray” and last years wildly popular “Shrek”.  This year they are cast in “Mary Poppins”, with Steve playing ‘Mr. Banks’ and Sophie playing ‘Mary Poppins’.  We can’t wait to see it!
