As Vernon BC Photographers who specialize in newborns, I have been SO incredibly blessed to meet so many sweet little ones in the past few weeks!

So many of these sweet babies actually decided to come early (was so early in fact he waited only 28 weeks before meeting his mom and dad and I have been waiting to meet him since February) that it has been very busy fitting everyone in! I got many of them photographed in and around Mother’s Day that it was very special to think about how their moms first Mother’s Day also coincided with a newborn session.

Capturing a newborn baby in these first few weeks of life (unless of course you are a premie) is always such a privilege. I know how quickly they will grow and change so to capture them so itty bitty and squishy (so the parents will have this memory to look back on) is very special to me. I don’t think anyone has ever thought….darn I have too many photos of my baby as a newborn. If anything, they wish they had more. The moment is so fleeting even though it feels like forever when you are sleep deprived.

My busy wedding season, with my sister company Wedded Bliss Photography is about to start for the late Spring and Summer months and although I pour everything into my weddings and love capturing them, a little piece of my heart is most definitely with my newborns. Cuddling and fawning over them…and let’s not forget newborn smell…..who wouldn’t love a day in the studio with one of them!

Since 2010 I have been photographing newborns and although I have had three studios in that time, my commitment to creating newborn portraits that will be passed down as an heirloom has never changed. I love my clients and their babies!
