I first met this Vernon Family, becoming their Vernon Photographer, at an annual event my husband and I support for the Caetani Cultural Centre.  Splash of Red.

My newborn photography studio is at the Caetani Centre so we gladly auction off a number of portrait sessions to help raise money for this great cause.  The Caetani Centre supports so many wonderful art incentives in the community and it feels so great to give back.

The Green Family comes to Splash of Red through MQN, the architectural firm Roger works at.  Shawna and Roger heard by husband auctioning off my portraits sessions and they took the opportunity to bid on one of my packages.  They wanted some new family portraits.   They left Vancouver a few years ago and the last family portrait session they had done was in the lower mainland at Queen Elizabeth Park.  The girls remember it also being in the fall because they got to throw some leaves around.

Julia in Grade 6 and Kate in Grade 4 were super fun girls to work with.  They LOVE their dog Honey (a lovely rescue dog from India) and wanted to incorporate her any chance they got.

The leaves are slowly finishing their beautiful cycle, but the orchard next to my home still had some beautiful brilliance to add to our portraits.  

Shawna and Roger jokingly laughed that doing their portraits felt like their Wedding day all over again.  They have been married over 20 years and met at Dalhousie University in Halifax.  I am so glad I convinced them to let the girls play in the orchard while we created some lovely portraits of just them.
