This darling girl is our neighbor and her mom and I have talked many times about being their Vernon Family Photographer but we never seem to set a date.  I think being good friends and neighbors, we always just put it off and see each other instead 🙂

Well, this year, for Heidi’s birthday I mentioned that part of our gift would be a photo.  My son absolutely adores her and we do too.  She has the sweetest soul and she is forever walking around with one of their farm animals in tow or in her arms.  This year, she even successfully raised an orphaned duckling who has now become very attached to the family farm and lives with the chickens.

I knew I wanted to photograph Heidi in this exact dress and cuddling a chicken when I was down at their place recently and she was doing just that.  So much childhood innocence, compassion and grace in one small being.

We love you Miss Heidi.  Thanks for being such a special soul in our neighbourhood!
