As a Vernon Newborn Photographer, I am always so appreciative of my past clients who love and appreciate my work, that they refer their friends to me for their newborn session as well.  Karin, and her beautiful family, have been in my calendar for many months, so when little Joah was finally born it was so lovely to finally meet him and his family!

Any newborn session is a momentous occasion, but it was especially touching, as Danie’s mother was in the studio as well.  She was here for the birth and our session all the way from South Africa!  She loved snuggling little Joah too!  She was a big help with Kara too as after her portion of the session was over, Nana took her for some Nana time.  It was so precious watching them go back and forth between  Afrikaans and English and I marveled at how communicative Kara was.  My little one, who is the same age, has about 5 words and here little Kara was going back and forth in full sentences!

Little Sister Kara wasn’t so sure of the process and needed a lot of convincing to be in some images.  It’s a lot for a big sister to take in.  Strange lady, strange studio and a new brother to hold?  She wasn’t budging on holding him but I am so thankful we finally persuaded her for a few family portraits.  Having her “lovie” in the picture helped.  I know it was super important to mom and dad to have their beautiful family all represented in one image.  When working with little toddlers one always has to keep an open agenda and we’ll get some more when little Joah is a bit older and we do more family portraits.
