As a Vernon Photographer, I have been honoured to photograph this family four times this past year. I feel so blessed to have clients who trust me to capture their most important family memories using my artistic vision. I first big brother Porter last year during our annual Santa Portrait Sessions. It was then he got to announce the new exciting news that his mom and dad were expecting another family member. Mom was so pleased with his Santa that a few months later we did a special 2 year old session for Porter’s birthday. It was then time for the beautiful maternity portraits we did, introducing Bryan to the portraits and now, we proudly present little Oscar’s newborn portraits.
At the maternity session, we were all wondering who would be joining their family. A little boy or a little girl? I was so excited when mom Jill emailed me announcing their little man’s arrival via c-section at 8:38 am. Little Oscar, Harris Bateman.
There was so much love and joy present at Oscar’s newborn session. And little Porter was an absolute champ posing with his new little brother. It’s always difficult to predict how an older sibling will pose with their new brother or sister but he flashed his pearly whites, gave us some fantastic giggles and I was able to capture exactly what I wanted.
Little Oscars’, session was a close to the three week mark but he still slept like an absolute champ thanks to a few soother breaks and some gentle encouragement. We got through lots of fun poses and different looks, even managing to incorporate a special item near and dear to Oscar’s grandmother. His grandmother loves all things Royal and to mark the birth of Prince George she bought a commemorative blanket (identical to the one he went home in from the hospital) that we used in the session too.
Bryan, Jill and Porter; you make an lovely family of four and I am so happy for your recent addition!
