As Vernon Photographers, we specialize in a number of portrait sessions. Some of our favourites are maternity portraits, newborn portraits and weddings through my other photography company, Wedded Bliss Photography.

For this incredible session Karly and Paul came from Salmon Arm to have their maternity photos created in the beautiful and picturesque Kal Park here in Vernon. It’s known for its amazing hiking trails, grasslands and incredible views of the aquamarine coloured Kalamalka Lake (or lake of many colours).

Karly had even come in a few weeks earlier to try on a number of my gowns to pick her favourites. They all looked so good on her that we had a hard time choosing but after Paul weighed in the two of them choose the beautiful wedding gown her friend lent her (isn’t it stunning!!!) and my popular red fitted one.

I love that Karly brought the dried floral head piece she had made for their wedding and her drum for some of the portraits. Including items that have personal meaning into your session for some of your portraits is such a beautiful way of tying in some of your families culture into your session.

We had beautiful weather for our time together and so thankfully even though Karly had to change out in the elements, it wasn’t too torturous. I love that the sun even peeked through the clouds for some beautiful back lit portraits.

Just after I was able to deliver these portraits to the Paul and Karly, little Oliver decided to make an early appearance (yes this is why I like to create my maternity portraits 6 weeks earlier than your due date) and I was thrilled to meet him a few days ago for his newborn portraits and congratulate them as a family of three!!!
